What are you Waiting (Wanting) For?

A three-part series:

Part one of Three: defining thoughts, feelings, and beliefs

Part two of three: negative and positive manifestations

Part three of three: tips for getting in tune with your thoughts

Let’s Get Started!

What are you Waiting (Wanting) For? – Do you ever wonder why some things you want come so easy and yet other things you want seem hard or never come about? Do you ever wonder why some people seem to have the life you wished you had?

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a straightforward process for getting all the things you want? There is! It’s my three-step methodology – Step 1) thoughts, plus Step 2) feelings (emotions) = Step 3) beliefs.

Abundance for All

You are perfectly equipped to get everything you want. There is abundance for all. There has to be. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be all the successful brands of toothpaste, running shoes, clothes, and golf clubs, to name a few. Think of all the singers performing the same genre, actors and comedians vying for our entertainment attention, and successful entrepreneurs competing in the same industry.

It’s a Choice

What are you working towards and dreaming about? There are many variables that influence the moments that make up our lives. I want to share the factors I have used that continue to work for me. It’s like a delicious meal I’ve eaten at a restaurant or a personalized service I received from a business; I want to share those with others–you! You may or may not choose to try these factors, and/or you may or may not choose to agree with some or any of them, and that’s great. It’s your choice! We all have choices every day about what we think, feel, and believe.

I will share my philosophy and choices in part one of this three-part series and define thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. In part two, I will share some of my manifestations and provide you with some questions to ponder. In part three, I will share some tips for getting in tune with your thoughts.

Patty!’s Philosophy:

Through constant research, trial, and error, I live the following philosophy: “What is manifesting in my life is the result of choices I have made through my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.”

My Choices:

  • I choose to believe that I am in control of how I choose to react to things happening to me and happening all around me.
  • I choose to be acutely aware of and in tune with my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
  • I also choose to either take on or disregard others’ opinions of me. I will always listen to others; however, I will also make a choice on what I do with those opinions.
  • I may choose to disregard others’ opinions; I may choose to ignore their negative thoughts, feelings, and their negative beliefs about me.
  • I choose to live my life through positive thoughts, feelings, and positive beliefs.
  • I choose to focus on what I want versus to focus on what I do not want. You have your own choices.

For Your Consideration:

You can choose to jot down whatever words, thoughts, or feelings that come to mind at this point.

Thoughts:

Let’s dive into your thoughts. You cannot not have a thought! Even when you are trying not to have a thought, you are having a thought. The key is tuning into your thoughts and being aware of them throughout your day. This takes practice. When you make it a part of how you experience the moments that make up your day, it becomes like breathing, both unconscious and conscious.

Let’s define thought. The Oxford Dictionary states, “A thought is an idea or opinion produced by thinking or occurring suddenly in the mind.” According to an article in Discover Magazine, the average person has between 60,000 and 80,000 thoughts per day. If we take the middle and say we each have about 70,000 thoughts per day, that is equal to about 3,000 thoughts per hour, approximately 50 thoughts per minute, and just under one thought per second. That is a lot of thoughts, and some of those thoughts may be running amuck!

Feelings (Emotions):

Let’s define feelings. Again, according to the Oxford Dictionary, “feelings are an emotional state or reaction.” Emotions are “a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one’s circumstances, mood or relationships with others……as distinguished from reasoning or knowledge.”

According to research from the National Center for Biotechnology Information published through PubMed Central, which offers a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. Natural Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine, an abstract of some research states, “……they developed a smartphone application that monitored real-time emotions of 11,000 participants. People’s everyday life seems profoundly emotional, as participants experienced at least one emotion 90 percent of the time. The most frequent emotion was joy followed by love and then anxiety.” Think about what people might have experienced during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beliefs:

The Oxford Dictionary defines a belief as “an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists.” Here is a slightly different definition of a belief from Ask and It Is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham), “a belief is a thought you think about and think about until you believe it.” A thought you think about and think about, plus strong feelings (emotions) surrounding that thought, results in a belief.

For Your Consideration:

Take a moment to think about something playing out in your life that you would like to change. Can you identify your current thoughts, feelings, and beliefs? Now, try doing the opposite. Think about something positive that is happening in your life. Can you, again, identify your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs? As your day unfolds, see if you can recognize any changes in your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.

To Wrap It Up

In wrapping up, I believe deeply in the power of our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs in shaping the reality we experience. This three-part series I’ve started is more than just sharing; it’s an invitation for you to join me in mastering these elements to create the life you desire. Throughout my journey, I’ve seen firsthand how aligning these three crucial aspects can bring about profound changes and manifestations in one’s life.

It’s not just about aiming for success in material terms-though that too is abundantly possible-it’s about fostering a life filled with joy, love, and satisfaction. As we move forward, I’ll continue to share my experiences and the tangible results of applying this methodology, hoping it serves as a guide and inspiration for you. Remember, every moment of every day, you have the choice to direct your thoughts, channel your emotions, and cultivate beliefs that empower you. Let’s embrace this journey together, tuning into our inner world to transform our outer world. So, take a moment, reflect on your current experiences, and get ready to shift them in ways you’ve always dreamed of.
